Admission planning

We recommend that you report to the Admissions Desk before your hospitalisation to complete the administrative formalities in advance. The pre-admission system allows you to complete all administrative procedures related to your operation beforehand. This will save time on the day of your admission and provide you with all the information you need to organise your hospital stay.

Choice of room

Please read our information brochure

At pre-admission or admission, you will need to choose between a single room and a shared room. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but please note that the hospital may face unforeseen circumstances and the number of rooms in each category is limited.

In accordance with patient’s rights, you are free to choose your doctor (either an in-house practitioner or a hospital-approved doctor).

Important: After your discharge, you will receive an invoice including all fees, hospitalisation costs, and any supplements. You will never be required to pay your doctor directly. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor about any potential additional charges.

Single room

By choosing a single room, you agree to the associated financial conditions regarding room and doctor fee supplements. These charged are capped at 300% of the INAMI base rate. Full details are provided in a separate document.

Please check what your hospital insurance covers. If you are unsure, the Admissions or Planning Department can verify this with your insurance provider on your behalf, provided you sign an authorisation form. This service is entirely free of charge.

An accompanying person may stay only in a single room, subject to an additional charge of €25 per night and approval by the care unit (depending on the patient’s condition). Meals for accompanying persons are available and must be paid for in advance at the Admissions Desk. For paediatrics hospitalisation, one parent may stay with their child regardless of the type of room requested, at no extra cost.

Shared room

No additional charges apply if you stay in a shared room.

Administration fees and deposit

  • One-day stay: Deposit of €60 applies only to single rooms

Medication management

To ensure safe care, it is important that medical and nursing staff know exactly which medications you usually take.

HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?

  • Make sure you have a complete and accurate list of your medicines for every hospital visit.

To help, you may use the “My Medication List” tool.

  • During your hospital stay, please do not take any personal medicines without the approval of a healthcare professional, in order to avoid overdoses or drug interactions.

DURING YOUR HOSPITAL STAY

Your prescribed medicines will be provided by the hospital, and any personal medicines must be handed over to the nursing staff.

For safety reasons, staff will ask you to confirm your first name, surname, and date of birth before administering any medicine.

Staff are also required to inform you which medicine is being administered and for what purpose.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have!

Cancellation

Once an admission has been scheduled, it is important to notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
