Professor Charlotte Martin and Nicolas Dauby are co-lecturers on the Medical Virology course for third-year medical students at ULB. <\/p>\n<p>Dr <strong>D\u00e9borah Konopnicki <\/strong>is a clinical supervisor for postgraduate training specialising in Internal Medicine at ULB and UZ-VUB.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Charlotte Martin <\/strong>is a clinical supervisor for the postgraduate programme in Infectious Diseases (ULB).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Agn\u00e8s Libois <\/strong>is a clinical supervisor for the postgraduate programme in General Practice (ULB).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Marie-Christine Payen<\/strong> is a clinical supervisor for Master\u2019s-level medical students for years 2 and 3 students (ULB)<\/p>\n<p>Each year, members of the department supervise several final Master\u2019s theses in Medicine and specialisations in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">Continuing Professional Development on HIV infection<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Quarterly multidisciplinary <strong>seminars, annual training day,<\/strong> thematic <strong>workshops<\/strong>, medical <strong>symposia<\/strong>, structural <strong>training courses<\/strong> for doctors, etc.<\/p>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">Training and Internships<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u25cf From ULB, training in <strong>Internal Medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf From ULB and other universities, specialising in <strong>Infectious Diseases<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf From ULB, training in <strong>General Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf As part of <strong>EACS <\/strong>(European AIDS Clinical Society) scholarships<\/p>\n<p>As part of <strong>programmes supporting access to antiretrovirals treatment <\/strong>in developing countries<\/p>\n<p>Postgraduate trainee doctors (PG) in Internal Medicine are supervised by Dr D\u00e9borah Konopnicki, those in Infectious Diseases by Prof. Charlotte Martin, and those in General Practice by Dr Agn\u00e8s Libois. <\/p>\n<p>The secretariat can be contacted on 02 535 41 30. The secretariat does not provide medical information to patients or book appointments. <\/p>\n<h2> <\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">Research<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The department hosts a clinical research unit capable of <strong>conducting both outpatient and inpatient clinical trials<\/strong>, in the areas of HIV therapy, antiviral treatments and antibiotic treatments, and vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>The department collaborates with several national and international infectious disease surveillance networks.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, it has also developed research programmes in <strong>vaccination<\/strong>, with a particular focus on people living with <strong>HIV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teaching Professor Nicolas Dauby is a co-lecturer on the Infectious Diseases course for third-year medical students at ULB.
