Prenatal acknowledgement allows you to officially establish the legal parentage of your child\u2019s father or co-parent before the birth. <\/p>\n<p>How to proceed? Please follow the link <span> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bruxelles.be\/naissance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.brussels.be\/birth<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Birth Registration&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The birth must be registered by the father or by both parents at the <span><strong>Civil Registry Office<\/strong><\/span> within fifteen days of the birth.<\/p>\n<h3>Where?<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruxelles.be\/naissance\">City of Brussels Offices<\/a><br \/>Boulevard Anspach 6 \u2013 1000 Brussels<br \/>Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm<br \/>(Please note: registration must take place within 3 working days following the birth)<\/p>\n<p>During your stay in the maternity ward, a nurse or social worker from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.one.be\/\">ONE<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kindengezin.be\/\">Kind en Gezin<\/a> will visit you to help you complete all the necessary formalities and explain the follow-up arrangements for your baby.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Leaving the maternity ward&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span>Once you have received approval from the midwife or gynaecologist and the paediatrician, you will be able to go home. Discharges are organised at 12 noon. We will answer any final questions you may have and provide follow-up support for breastfeeding and your health. If you wish, we will also help you choose the most suitable contraception for your situation. She will be available to answer any questions you may have at home and ensure that you and your baby are doing well. <\/p>\n<p>You can also arrange for a midwife to visit you at home after your stay
